MongoDB is an open source, distributed, NoSQL document-oriented database that stores JSON documents. It supports multi-document ACID transactions with snapshot isolation.
MongoDB is available in both Community and Enterprise Editions, along with a number of additional products. These are available for both on-premises and in-cloud deployments. In addition, there is also MongoDB Atlas, which is a managed service, and MongoDB Stitch which is a so-called “serverless” offering running in conjunction with Atlas. A mobile version of MongoDB is also available.
