This paper is about two different PaaS – Platform as a Service – solutions. In the PaaS model, the cloud service customer creates the software it needs using tools and/or libraries from the PaaS provider. The customer also controls software deployment and configuration settings; whereas the PaaS provider looks after the provision of the networks, servers, storage, and other services that support the software. Analysts such as Gartner are predicting a sharp rise in PaaS adoption, now that people are more used to using cloud services and PaaS isn’t only available from risky start-ups.
