Welcome to the April 2016 issue of the Bloor MiniMag! The theme for this issue is Actionable Insight.
This begs the question, what makes Insight Actionable? According to David Norfolk, Practice Leader Development & Governance at Bloor: “The world is full of technologies that collect data resources and technologies that promise to mine these resources for valuable insights. Bloor’s view is that the only insights that matter are insights that are actually used, directly or indirectly, to facilitate business. Insights that really can be used are “actionable insights” – and organisations need to verify (as a matter of good governance) that they really are used, and that they deliver the business benefit expected. Any insight that can’t be actioned; or one that could be actioned but isn’t actioned fully or not at all, represents a waste of resources. Such dysfunctional insight capabilities should be identified as a basis for process improvement – which means, that they should be made Actionable in practice.”
