Cloud Gateway is a UK company, founded in 2017 to address the issues of connecting businesses to multiple cloud providers, the Public Services Network (PSN), the Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) and the internet. Hybrid cloud connectivity does this simply, securely, cost effectively and in a manner that enables choice and agility. The founding directors have worked within the IT industry, specifically in the field of networking, for 40+ years collectively. Much of this work was conducted within secure environments delivering critical infrastructure services to central government departments. This shows in the nature of the solutions Cloud Gateway provides.

The solution at the core of their business is PRISM. This is what we at Bloor call an Edge Network Interconnection Platform (ENIP). This is a service that provides a secure connection to both Public Cloud providers and private networks from Edge locations. Customers can use their existing network equipment and contracts, be it MPLS, Internet Broadband or Mobile 4G/5G to connect to a local Point of Presence (PoP) in a regional data centre with great interconnectivity options and an on-ramp to the global private connections of public cloud services providers. Performance, availability and existing local network connectivity contracts are then managed centrally by Cloud Gateway.

The way in which the solution is architected, with strong encryption and central management also allows Cloud Gateway to provide accredited connectivity to the Public Sector Network (PSN), the Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) and multiple cloud providers as well as be National Cyber Security (NCSC) compliant. It is a simple and effective solution to provide interconnectivity between businesses that have just gone through a Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) process.

We expect to see rapid growth in this business as the demand for secure remote connectivity increases in the light of recent events.
