Financial and Business Reporting for Oracle E-Business R12 and 11i (2nd edition)

This paper compares different approaches to reporting against the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS). While there is some commonality between this environment and those of some other ERP implementations, there are also some specific issues with respect to EBS that are discussed in this paper. Thus some of the general comments made herein may be applicable to other situations, those that are more specific will not be. In particular, a specific consideration is that Oracle E-Business R12 is proving to be a popular step up from the preceding E-Business version 11i but an upgrade to R12 is a non-trivial exercise, introducing a new set of reporting challenges. As such, an R12 upgrade could be a catalyst for rationalising your reporting strategy. Consequently, our analysis applies broadly to both 11i and R12, but with a particular focus on R12 and its specific reporting challenges and opportunities.
